Balmain Hair Couture extensions are the crème de la crème of clip-in hair. So it makes sense that the legendary fashion house would be the one to pioneer the ultimate application hack for the long, Cher-like lengths as seen on Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande.

We first spotted the brand’s Système Volume hair extension tool on make-up artist Huda Kattan’s Instagram and since then we can’t stop watching it in action. Here’s how it works: a square, plastic case that contains the hair extensions is applied to the root of a section of hair. After the case is clipped, the gun-like applicator is pressed on to the root of the extensions and once removed–voilà! Longer hair in less than a minute. According to Balmain, the tool works best with Balmain’s 100% human hair extensions and can last for up to six months.
