This year alone, Selena Gomez has made multiple headlines from dominating the charts with her new music and acting as the executive producer for a Netflix series to being an advocate for mental health and having a kidney transplant. Using her achievements and life-changing experiences to inspire others, it is no surprise that the 25-year-old singer/actress/activist was honoured as “Woman of the Year” at the recent 2017 Billboard Women in Music Awards.

For the award ceremony, Selena donned a black Versace leather ensemble and had her makeup done by the renowned beauty expert and Marc Jacobs Beauty Global Artistry Ambassador, Hung Vanngo. With a focus on Selena’s skin and enhancing her features, Hung opted for a natural look with a 90's touch, and he divulges how to achieve the red carpet look with Marc Jacobs Beauty.

The Eyes

For the eyes, Hung used the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer to prep Selena’s eyelids. Next, using the Eye-Conic Multi-finish Eyeshadow Palette in Glambition, Hung applied the shade “Known For” all over Selena’s eyelids and lower lash line. To define her upper lash, Hung used the Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in a dark brown shade, “(Earth)quake 41”, and softened the line with The Smudge Brush. Using the same brush, Hung then applied the shade “Over The Top” from the same eyeshadow palette to create more depth. Finally, Hung finished the eyes by applying two coats of the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara to Selena’s upper lashes.

The Brows

For the brows, Hung used the Brow Wow Defining Longwear Eyebrow Pencil in “Medium Brown 6” to fill in Selena’s brows and brushed them using the Brow Tamer Grooming Gel.
