3. BAZAAR’S exclusive with Malaysian designer Pa Ya Hui

A graduate of Middlesex University, her forte lies in pattern cutting and draping techniques. Currently based in Penang, the 30-year-old’s creations are greatly influenced by music, art and history. We love how she experiments with new methods to uniquely reinterpret the beauty of the female form.

Pa’s keen eye for exaggerated shapes, fabric manipulation and off-beat styling was on full display for her Fall ’19 presentation at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur—from asymmetrical floral handkerchief skirt to futuristic dresses, her fashion-forward aesthetics have all the making of the next big Malaysian designer.
