Having been worn recently by the likes of Alexa Chung, Kate Moss and Kristen Stewart, it’s no surprise that plenty of people are planning to forego a frock in favour of a tailored two-piece this season. Searches for women’s suits have been up 79 per cent in the last two weeks and are up 109 per cent in comparison to this time last year.

Suits by Chung’s namesake brand, by Gabriela Hearst and those on Asos have all been popular, but not as desired as Topshop’s red velvet suit (which has now unfortunately sold out).

Channel the look instead – in the most festive way – by snapping up Zara’s statement red velvet suit.
