Here are some Malaysian Celebrity Pets that will just make your heart melt.
Amelia Henderson and Akira a.k.a Sosej (@sosejaki)
How long have you had Sosej?
It’s been half a year, so he’s still a baby. Basically, I was going through a really rough time and my friend and I just finished watching ‘Alice in Borderland’. He said that getting a cat would add a bit more fun to my life! I’m convinced he wanted a cat but didn’t want to look after it! He already knew which cat would be perfect for me, so he showed me a photo of Akira.
Why did you choose to name him Akira?
We chose a Japanese name because of Alice in Borderland! But also because we wanted a name that starts with the letter ‘a’. Akira also means sunlight in Japanese. My name is Henderson, his name is Sunlee, and we have been co-parenting him ever since! Sosej was a name my friend came up with later, and it kind of stuck.
Can you share a fun fact about Akira?
My mum has a lot of dogs and I trained all of them to sit, stay and etc. So when I got Akira, I told my team at the office that I was going to teach him tricks, and they all laughed at me. But the joke is really on them because he knows how to sit and fetch.
What do you love most about him?
He’s independent and doesn’t need too much attention. He’s also very loving. He loves to keep me company in the mornings when I’m doing my makeup or when I’m watching TV. He is the friendliest cat I’ve ever met.
Han Pin Ma, Jane Chuck and Ninja Ma (@letsrollninja)
How long have you had Ninja?
Seven years ago, we decided to take care of something together and we thought getting a dog would be a great choice. That’s how we ended up with Ninja.
What is one fun fact about Ninja?
He stays with us rent-free and he does absolutely nothing. He sleeps most of the time. He loves to cuddle and is surprisingly very protective towards both of us. He also doesn’t like it when we quarrel.
What do you love most about Ninja?
We love how calm he is, and he is just too cute. He never fails to put a smile on my face, even on our worst days.
Ameera Khan and Darling
How long have you had Darling, and why did you choose to adopt her?
I actually got her as a gift in November 2019. Her name Darling was inspired by the people around me that I love.
What is one fun fact about Darling?
Oh, there are so many! She loves to roll on her back whenever she sees me for tummy rubs. She sleeps with me on the bed every night. She likes to cuddle and loves to be carried around. She drinks out of the cup. She loves licking off icing on cakes, and she meows like once a year or never. There are so many I can go on forever; she’s so precious.
What do you love most about her?
I love that she’s very clingy, chonky and obedient.
Eyka Farhana and Muhd Star Boy (@callmestar.boy)
How long have you had him?
I have had him since June, and he was actually given to me.
What is one fun fact about Muhd Star Boy?
He is so manjaaa (pampered) and loves kisses.
What do you love most about him?
EVERYTHING! I love my star boy more than anyone in the world.
Jovynn and Sun
How long have you had Sun?
I’ve had Sun since December last year when he was two months old. I’ve always been hesitant about getting a puppy because of how much my mom hates dogs. She’s been traumatised by the dogs that chased her when she was younger and has always warned me not to get one. But something in me felt like I needed to get him.
The moment I met him, he was stuck in a cage all day long, with no freedom to move around. However, the minute I picked him up, he was overjoyed and leapt all over me. I just couldn’t resist and decided to bring him home, and it turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made! He’s a very well-behaved pup, and my mother absolutely loves him. It feels like fate brought us together at just the right time!
What is one fun fact about Sun?
He’s super clingy and will not fall asleep until he can feel me next to him. If I shift to the side, he will move closer until there is no space left for me on the bed to sleep. Plus, he also loves being patted. Sometimes he arches his back in peculiar ways when people do that to him, almost like he’s showing off his behind. He also never barks unless I leave the house, which makes it so hard for me to leave.
What do you love most about him?
I love that he follows me everywhere, even to the bathroom. When I take a shower, I can hear him rush to me from outside. He’s really respectful and knows not to be too loud, and just whines. He makes my heart melt every single day.
Nia and Pea
How long have you had Pea, and why did you choose to adopt him?
I was going through a tough period in my life and felt extremely lonely. One day I thought to myself, “Maybe I needed a cat because it’s been a while since I had a pet”. So, I got on Twitter and tweeted, “Does anybody have a cat to give away? I’m looking to adopt”. I got so many submissions in my DM’s from people who wanted to give me their cats, and when I saw a picture of Pea, I immediately knew it had to be him. His tiny ears were what I fell in love with. (laugh)
What is one fun fact about Pea?
Pea is smarter than he may seem! He can understand us and actually knows how to hold a conversation. You know he’s talking to you because his meows are so different when he does.
What do you love most about him?
I love how he’s so smart and manja! He’s always down to cuddle.
Alvin Chong and Logan
How long have you had Logan?
Logan is actually 6 years old. I got him from a friend from high school who had too many puppies. It was kinda love at first sight; he came to me when he saw me.
What is one fun fact about Logan?
He is an introvert, doesn’t like strangers and always raises his back leg like he is doing a ballet stretch.
What do you love most about him?
I love that he is exactly like a copy of me. He doesn’t really show much affection but he does care. (laugh)
Nabila Huda and Toyayeah
How long have you had Toya, and why did you choose to adopt her?
I’ve had her for almost four years now. I got her from a friend, Betty Rahmad. At that time she had just given birth to her son and she said, she and her son are sensitive to cats. Of course, I said yes to adopting her!
What is one fun fact?
When you carry Toya, he will get angry and meow in the most dramatic way. (laugh)
What do you love most about her?
Her sassy yet manja attitude.
Jack Gohr and Nyan 粘粘 (@nyan.0520)
How long have you had Nyan, and why did you choose him?
I’ve had Nyan, Ne-an 粘粘, which means clingy in Chinese, for probably a year ago since I moved into my new place.
What is one fun fact?
Well, I was actually a dog person. I used to not like cats before I met him. But now I am IN LOVE! Even my grandmother, who used to dislike cats, changed her mind after meeting him. She found him adorable and carried him with her everywhere she went.
What do you love most about Nyan?
I love that he’s always there for me. Especially when I get home after a long day of shoots or events. He always greets me with a meow in front of the door as if he is saying ‘welcome home’. (laugh)
Kittie Yiyi and Simba and Duffy
How long have you had both Simba and Duffy?
I found Simba wandering around my condo’s parking lot. This led me to adopt Duffy a few months later, so Simba wouldn’t be alone.
What is one fun fact?
I’ve never thought of having a cat because I am allergic to fur. But I guess LOVE has conquered it all now. (laugh)
What do you love most about them?
I love how fluffy and chill Simba is. On the other hand, Duffy is so playful and just keeps meowing.
