Take a look at Audemars Piguet’s ever-evolving collection
Since 1875, progressiveness has been central to Audemars Piguet’s identity and watchmaking philosophy. Their forward-thinking approach is what spurred the Swiss watchmaker to continue to inspire new iterations of watches such as the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet. Expanding significantly this year, the manufacturer has not only added two latest references to the collection but also welcomed 38 mm case-size timepieces.
Exploring new horizons, the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet line has followed up with two self-winding models; an 18-carat pink gold case elevated with an embossed dial in purple or ivory. Debuting a new 38mm diameter case size — a first for the collection — the new watches were crafted to fit slimmer wrists. Each of the references comes with an alligator strap that matches the dial tone for a more contemporary spirit.
Rendered with an evolved aesthetic, its case is furnished with an octagonal case middle, extra-thin bezel and stylised lugs that push the boundaries of the company’s savoir-faire. Staying true to their tradition, the case is also enriched with satin-brushing and polished finishes that enhance the look and feel of the watches.
Retaining their collection’s latest dial design, both timepieces have an embossed dial decorated with hundreds of tiny holes that move outwards from its centre in a wave-like pattern creating concentric circles. A revolutionary addition to the design, the motif acts as an enhancer for clarity. For improved legibility, the new Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet models also have polished hour markers and hands that contrast with the dials. On top of that, the hands are filled with luminescent coating for better readability in the dark.
Reinforcing precision and modern aesthetics, the two new references are powered by the latest-generation self–winding movements, the Calibre 5900, which first appeared in 2022. Providing stability, this movement combines a slim 4 mm thickness, a high 4Hz frequency and a 60-hour power reserve. The sapphire caseback reveals the 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight that bridges the gap between functionality and style. Along with that, the new models also adorn polished angles, vertical satin brushing, Côtes de Genève, circular graining and chamfering — all of which point to a maturing, contemporary line.
Since its introduction, the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet collection has marked remarkable strides for the brand. As the collection continues to evolve, the latest additions explore the synergies between fine watchmaking, style and design that are versatile and suitable for everyday wear.
