Introducing ‘Goddess’ by Burberry—the newest fragrance in their collection and the female counterpart to the iconic Burberry Hero for men. This modern interpretation of the word embodies a powerful and universal archetype that hopes to resonate with the women of today.
Brought to life by master perfumer Amandine Clerc Marie, she had her heart set on creating a strong olfactive message. “For Burberry Goddess, I had the desire to communicate the value of female empowerment, strength and confidence inspired by the collective power of a pride of lionesses. So, I built a fragrance that was both protective and powerful. Vanilla felt like an obvious selection to me as a starting point, so my olfactory building process started with this note.”
Truly a unique gourmand fragrance, the Goddess is guided by a triumvirate of distinctive vanilla notes. First, a woody Vanilla Infusion springs a unique depth to the scent. Then, the inclusion of Firgood™, also known as Vanilla Caviar, contributes a sweet, luxurious, and subtly animalic vanilla essence. Lastly, Vanilla Absolute, with its darker and more opulent profile, adds a mysterious, creamy dimension to the fragrance.
In perfect harmony with this vanilla symphony, bright Lavender Diva essence from Provence and the earthy undertones of cocoa and ginger roots create a melodious aromatic blend, complementing each facet of vanilla.
What makes this new fragrance so special is that it also resides within Burberry’s first-ever refillable bottle. The outer casing pays tribute to Burberry’s enduring heritage with its timeless gabardine design, while the bottle itself, inspired by archival elements, is given a modern touch with the addition of a golden medallion.
And making even more significant strides in the brand’s commitment to sustainability, the bottle of the Goddess also incorporates recycled glass, with the refill being crafted from recycled and recyclable aluminium. Beyond eco-consciousness, the aluminium provides protection against light exposure, extending the lifespan of the refills, allowing customers to cherish their fragrances for longer. These initiatives underscore Burberry’s dedication to minimising the environmental footprint of their products.
To mark the launch of this scene-stealing fragrance, Burberry hosted an exciting gathering at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur earlier this month. Joined by the likes of Timothea Low, Alicia Amin and Qalisha Ray, digital director, Amalina Anuar caught up with our lovely friends of BAZAAR to get their first impressions of this invigorating new scent.
