“Only design clothes that I would wear myself” – this iconic quote comes from none other than Alia Bastamam.
The Malaysian womenswear designer Alia Bastamam recently made her debut at Dubai Fashion Week, and who better to close the show than Scha Alyahya. The Malaysian actress, model, and TV host is known for her bold and charismatic presence, which explains why she’s one of Malaysia’s most in-demand influencer. From making an impact in the local fashion scene to the international stages, Scha has pretty much done it all – and she’s not slowing down anytime soon.
The dreamy custom look took months of sleepless planning but it was also the result of fashion and true friendship. To complete the look, celebrity makeup artist Khir Khalid adds his magic touch to Scha using Armani Beauty.
The experience was an emotional rollercoaster for all while strengthening the bond between the designer and the muse.
Taken from a statement, the designer shared, “Scha Alyahya truly epitomises the Alia Bastamam woman. She has been successful in what she does. She is effortless in her style, an icon in entertainment and beyond. She is a mother to two beautiful daughters and continues to do what she does best, which is just about everything!”
”She is honestly the past, present and future of the Alia Bastamam brand. And I can only wish, hope and manifest to be a woman like my friend Scha Alyahya,” she concludes.
The designer and actress have built a unique connection since Bastamam’s debut in the fashion realm in 2011.
A moment to remember was when Scha Alyahya stunned the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival in 2023. She donned an Alia Bastamam silhouette inspired by the designer’s ‘Odyssey’ collection.
