Taylor Swift’s Go-to Brand AUPEN Reveals Founder Ahead of LVMH Métiers d’Art Debut.
Seen on everyone from Taylor Swift to Beyoncé, celebrity favourite accessories brand AUPEN has finally disclosed its elusive founder: Nicholas Tan—a former Southeast Asian Games swimming gold medallist who has quietly transformed his passion into one of Hollywood’s most coveted accessory lines.
This isn’t the first time the 35-year-old, who studied at Raffles Institution, Raffles Junior College, and Harvard University, rose to the top of the fashion world. Previously, he became one of the first Asian faces to front Italian fashion house Dolce&Gabbana’s global ad campaign more than 10 years ago.
Before AUPEN, he founded a showroom in Asia that introduced the works of designers such as Dries Van Noten, David Koma, and Joseph Altuzarra. In an interview with WWD, Nicholas admitted that “I decided I didn’t want to be a backup singer anymore and that’s when I started AUPEN.”
The LVMH Métiers d’Art Partnership: A New Chapter in AUPEN’s Rise
Known for sculptural designs and beloved by stars like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Hailey Bieber, Emily Blunt and Selena Gomez, AUPEN is now poised to elevate even further with a highly anticipated partnership with LVMH Métiers d’Art.
Moving forward, the brand will work on product development in collaboration with LVMH Métiers d’Art-owned companies such as Tanneries Roux, the historic French tannery founded in 1803, and the famed luxury hardware manufacturer Jade Groupe, which counts brands like Chanel and Schiaparelli among its clients. They will also be launching partnerships with other global ateliers and a quality control system has also been put in place for AUPEN, ensuring meticulous attention to detail will be given to each of their creations.
Fans eagerly await a game-changing brand repositioning—one that merges AUPEN’s new modernity with LVMH’s renowned expertise in craftsmanship and quality. But here’s the catch: with prices expected to rise, now’s the time to grab your AUPEN bag before it’s too late!
