Bella Hadid has joined the roster of this year’s most-coveted celebrity haircuts, debuting a choppy fringe while attending a Chopard jewellery launch in Dubai. The model’s snippy new style is a stark departure from her typical sleek lengths; the fresh cut features a brow-skimming full fringe, razored into a textured finish, as well as a deep and glossy brunette colour. Sophisticated and effortless all at once, this modern fringe is a must-have on our winter beauty mood board.

Outside of the occasional experimental editorial, 28-year-old Hadid has a concise approach to beauty and, more specifically, to hair. While she’s drifted between bright sunkissed and rich darker shades, its safe to say that a brunette hue has long been her signature. Unlike older sister Gigi, who debuted a chic French bob in the spring, the model’s commitment to cuts is even more rigid; we rarely see her stray from her long lengths, making her new choppy trim even more unexpected.

While Hadid’s new style is the perfect example of an edgier set of celebrity curtains, fellow A-listers Dakota Johnson and Daisy Edgar-Jones have long been making a case for the softer viral curtain fringe. Since appearing in the BBC’s adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People, Edgar-Jones has been a modern fringe muse. Her signature? A set of coquettish-meets-cool lash-length bangs.
