Capture The Day
Dior’s newest chapter in skincare arrives with purpose. The brand has revisited its Capture line with a fresh clarity, shaped by regenerative medicine, advanced stem cell research and a sharper understanding of how collagen actually behaves across a full day. Rather than adding yet another cream to the routine, Dior has rebuilt the idea of collagen support from the ground up and the result is a complete 24 hour protocol that feels both modern and quietly luxurious.
From day to night, Dior rethinks collagen support with a science-led approach that feels equally luxurious with the launch of their newest Dior Capture creams.

Marie Videau, President of LVMH Research, explains that collagen is influenced by more than just age. How it is produced, how it sits within the skin and how quickly it breaks down are all connected. Dior already supports collagen production and nighttime protection, yet Videau says there is always more to learn because collagen is one of the skin’s most important building blocks.
One of the biggest ideas behind this launch centres on the skin’s circadian rhythm. Videau describes it simply: the skin behaves differently during the day and night, so it makes sense that skincare should work with those shifts. For example, collagen naturally increases at night, but if it is not protected at the same time, much of that effort is lost. This idea shaped the entire relaunch.
To advance Capture, Dior partnered with leading researchers from Kyoto, Stanford and other institutions. Associate Professor Knut Woltjen worked with Dior to understand how mother cells change over time. His team’s work showed that as these cells lose energy, collagen production slows. Dior responded by developing OX C Treatment, a technology that helps boost oxygen transport in the skin to support its natural regenerative ability.

Biotechnology also helped Dior refine its ingredients. Videau explains that biotech allows the brand to create natural origin ingredients that are smaller, more targeted and easier for the skin to recognise. One result of this is a biomimetic collagen inspired by human collagen, designed to blend more easily with the skin’s own structure.
The new Capture protocol is designed as a day and night duo. Virginie Couturaud, head of scientific communication at Dior, says the reason is simple. The skin produces less collagen at night and the collagen that is present is more likely to break down. Using a day cream to stimulate collagen and a night cream to protect it makes the routine much more consistent.
Dr Patricia Ogilvie, a dermatologist on Dior’s Reverse Ageing Board, sees this as a meaningful shift. She points out that the goal is not to replace collagen but to help the skin restore its own ability to make it. Supporting the skin’s natural processes is key to maintaining its long term strength.
Even with all the research behind it, Dior wanted the textures to feel beautiful. Couturaud says the goal was to balance performance with pleasure, because the experience of using a product matters too.
The Day Crème now comes in two textures, Soft and Rich. Both offer the same results but suit different skin needs and climates. Kenta Mitani, skincare engineer at LVMH Research, explains that creating two textures with identical performance was challenging. Each version needed to maintain oxygen transport for collagen production while still feeling comfortable on the skin. The Rich formula required even more work because Dior chose to use natural waxes, which are harder to control than synthetic ones. The team spent time adjusting the composition until they achieved a velvety, non greasy texture.
The Night Crème is built around a key insight from Dior’s research board. Collagen breaks down more at night, so protecting it during this period is essential. The formula includes Prolatonine, a complex created through botanical biotechnology, which helps reduce collagen damage. OX C Treatment continues working overnight to support regeneration and improve the skin’s appearance with time.
Professor Vittorio Sebastiano of Stanford explains that this aligns with a wider move towards skin longevity. Instead of quick fixes, the goal is to help cells work more efficiently so the skin behaves in a more youthful way over the long term.
