First conceived in 2025 to commemorate Giorgio Armani’s 50th anniversary, ARMANI/Archivio is a project aiming to celebrate and preserve the brand’s heritage. It provides an interactive platform showcasing historic collections. In conjunction with Milan Design Week, the brand launches the second chapter of ARMANI/Archivio–a move that feels particularly poignant and significant in the aftermath of founder Giorgio Armani’s passing in September 2025.

Opening at Giorgio Armani’s boutique in Via Sant’Andrea 9, this installment of ARMANI/Archivio brings back 13 iconic men’s and women’s looks from collections spanning 1979 to 1994. Operating under the concept of ‘Past Perfect. Future Ready’, the selection of archival pieces revolves around the jacket, the garment which earned Giorgio Armani international acclaim. It embodied the relaxed approach to tailoring that was novel to the fashion industry at the time, famously going global after they were worn by Richard Gere’s Julian in American Gigolo (1980).
