Bag of the Month: The Chanel 25 Handbag

Come into Chanel’s world.

This month, we put the spotlight on the Chanel 25 handbag. One of the most sought after bags of the season, alongside the classic flap bag and reissued 2.55, the Chanel 25 is a picture of practicality. Introduced for the first time at the Spring/Summer 2025 show, and named for the year it was released, the bag is known to be a picture of practicality. It features iconic Chanel codes, including quilted leather, a leather-interlaced chain, and the double C, and takes on a hobo-inspired silhouette. Available in three sizes, its structured base maximises style and storage, with external pockets with the signature flap on either side to fit more.

At the same time, it has become a canvas for self-expression. Under creative director Matthieu Blazy’s direction, the Chanel 25 has taken on new shades, including bright orange, mint green and bubble gum pink, as well as exciting textures, such as suede, denim, braided raffia, and perforated calfskin. Notably, a leopard-inspired version stole the show at Blazy’s Métiers d’art 2026 show.

The bag’s bold and dynamic energy was channelled into a now-viral campaign with Chanel brand ambassador Margot Robbie recreating Kylie Minogue’s 2001 ‘Come Into My World’ music video.

It is no wonder that the bag has become a go-to for celebrities around the world. Below, BAZAAR finds out how they are styling the contemporary bag for different occasions.
