… meet the Veronicas?
Veronica Swanson Beard: Having the same name means being in two places at the same time! We love catching people’s reactions when we introduce ourselves. Whenever going through security or boarding a flight together, the gate agents almost always do a double take at us.
… lose yourself in your favourite hobbies?
Veronica Miele Beard: I’m always planning a trip to somewhere far away. I was just in Japan and I couldn’t get enough of the fashion in Tokyo. It’s interesting to just see the city’s wild spirit and people’s individuality through the streets.
VSB: Home décor is a serious passion of mine. KRB Interiors has the best antiques, Schumacher is the ultimate fabric destination, and ABC Carpet & Home has fabulous china and rugs.
… share great conversations over a good meal?
VMB: I always go to Kappo Masa on the Upper East Side for sushi.
VSB: I love a good classic bistro, and the chic Le Bilboquet is my go to-to. Every New Yorker knows this place.
… own a defining item in your closet to take you from day to day?
VMB: The Veronica Beard Dickey Jacket is a chic answer to everyday dressing. It takes a woman from uptown to downtown and to Brooklyn.
VSB: I wear a big stack of bracelets everyday. Our lives are so hectic, it’s important to make getting dressed in the morning as simple as possible. Bracelets, jeans, and a tee are all I need.
… let a fashion documentary inspire your wardrobe?
VMB: My brother [Matthew Miele]’s documentary, Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s, is one of my favourites. He interviewed fabulous designers, style icons, and celebrities, and created a beautiful narrative around the New York department store.
… make a modern-day icon your role model?
VMB: All iconic women are known for something memorable about them. It’s all about how she wears it and her energy. Meghan Markle is a true modern-day icon. She’s a woman who makes everything she wears memorable.
