Fashion has become increasingly politicized, and no one took it to the next level like Balenciaga creative director, Demna Gvasalia. For his Spring/Summer ’20 collection at the Spanish couture house, the Georgian designer “looked at pictures of women politicians, of what they were campaigning”, culminating in cocoon-esque tailoring and least of all, stately aluminumized ball gowns.
