Actor, dancer, choreographer and singer, Harry Shum Jr., appear at the Screen Actors Guild Awards with his co-star… but it isn’t what you’d expect.
Best known for his roles as Mike Chang on Glee, Benson Kwan in Grey’s Anatomy, Magnus Bane on Shadowhunters and even Charlie Wu in Crazy Rich Asians, Harry Shum Jr. now takes on the role of Chad, a teppanyaki chef, on Everything Everywhere All at Once.
But Chad is no ordinary chef as he has an underlying secret in the metaverse. Under the chef’s hat, he is controlled by a talking racoon. Readers may find the concept similar to the 2007 Pixar Animation Film, Ratatouille. On the red carpet the actor played tribute to his puppet co-star and showed everyone who is in control by revealing a picture of the furry character in the pocket lining in his black Giorgio Armani tuxedo. The actor’s suited up look was paired with Jimmy Choo oxfords and an Omega watch. Check out who else made an appearance on the red carpet here.
Everything Everywhere All at Once, directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, aka The Daniels, recently made history with most wins at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. With Michelle Yeoh becoming the first Asian Best Actress Film winner in history and Ke Huy Quan becoming the first Asian Best Supporting Actor Film winner. The full list of winners can be read here. With the most nominations at this year’s Oscars, the underlying question is,will it become the third movie in history to win three awards?
