Making his debut in the TV drama series Cut Amirah in 2011, Hisyam Hamid knew that his true calling was in the world of entertainment.

It goes without saying that time spent on one thing is time taken away from another. This is the reality for this devoted family man and father of two beautiful kids. Hisyam Hamid’s commitment to his family extends beyond as he made the difficult decision to work in Malaysia while his family continue their lives in Singapore. The physical distance between them presents its own set of challenges, but it’s a sacrifice that he is willing to make to ensure that his family’s needs are met. That is why he has found ways to remain an integral part of his children’s lives, thanks to the aid of technology. From Facetime to messaging apps and other digital tools, he is able to maintain a strong presence in the daily routines of his wife and kids. His proud love and devotion always see him travelling back and forth for important milestones of their lives.

As technology continues to play a more prominent role in our lives, Hisyam Hamid looks to adapt his career accordingly and take on more projects for online platforms this year. He shares that he is currently working on digital films, which prove to have their own set of learning curves. From the crew involved, the style of acting and the portrayal of characters, he continues to have new experiences allowing him to showcase a different side of his personality on screen.
As time goes by, Hisyam Hamid knows that it’s not easy to find the time to be present for his children, but he also knows that the little moments spent together are the ones that matter most. His message to other fathers is one of hope and encouragement – “to be proactive, to make time for family, and to cherish every moment spent together.”
