Saint Laurent Collaborates With Girard Perregaux For Casquette 2.0

A new interpretation of the iconic Casquette watches is limited to 100 pieces worldwide.

Casquette 2.0

In 1976, the first Casquette watch was created with a quartz movement and a unique tubular LED display, setting it apart from traditional two-handed watches of the time. Girard-Perregaux only produced 8200 of these innovative quartz watches. Since then, the Casquette has gained popularity among watch enthusiasts and those who value style.

About Casquette 2.0

Today, the iconic Casquette has returned with the help of the Creative Director of Saint Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello. Saint Laurent and Girard-Perregaux have joined forces to introduce the reimagined limited edition digital watch – Casquette 2.0. This time, officially adopting the original moniker, it is housed in a scratch-resistant ceramic case and features a Grade 5 titanium case back.

Rounding off this lightweight ensemble are titanium pushers and a titanium badge which is positioned atop the watch head and emblazoned with a period GP logo. In common with the original avant-garde model, this latest watch displays the hours, minutes, seconds, day, and date. However, the new movement comes with some additional functions, including a second time zone, a secret date, and more.

Additionally, the watch is supplied on a ceramic bracelet with a rubber interior. This proves more flexible than its counterpart fitted to the original Casquette. As a “stylish watch that promises a lasting allure,” the battery life of Casquette 2.0 runs up to about two years.

Where To Purchase Casquette 2.0

Keenly priced, the limited-edition watch is sitting within a new segment for Girard-Perregaux. The Casquette 2.0 Saint-Laurent 01 is now available online via the Saint Laurent Rive Droite site for MYR27,330.
