Big lips

2010s beauty trends that defined the decade
From over-lined with lipliner, to overblown with filler, lips were big this decade. Kylie Jenner, who launched Kylie Cosmetics with Lip Kits, built a beauty empire around her own inflated pout (after denying, then admitting to, her lip filler habit). Since then, influencers and reality TV stars have proudly displayed fuller, fake-looking lips on our screens, with Love Island annually dictating a rise in young people booking lip fillers, according to aesthetic practitioners. Now, you can even have your lips ‘done’ on the high street, with Superdrug launching in-store injectable services (alongside mental health checks for customers, following NHS criticism). As the decade ends, the duck-face pose might have had its day, but plumped pouts are still in demand – for now.
