Anya Taylor-Joy Shares All on New Dior Addict Launches

In Conversation with Anya Taylor-Joy

Light, colour and energy have long defined Dior Addict. With its latest chapter, the House refines that signature language through a considered expansion of the line, introducing three new fragrances alongside a newly reimagined Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil. Together, they present a modern expression of glow, where scent and shine move in quiet dialogue.

As Dior Addict enters a new chapter, Anya Taylor-Joy reflects on memory, self-expression and the beauty of glow that feels effortless and personal.

At the centre of this evolution is Anya Taylor-Joy, who continues her relationship with Dior Beauty as one of the faces of the Dior Addict extension, alongside Willow Smith and Jisoo. It is a natural progression for an ambassador whose presence has come to embody the ease and individuality that defines the collection.

When asked to name a moment from her own life that mirrors the uplifting spirit of Dior Addict, Taylor-Joy turns not to a singular memory, but to a rhythm she knows well. “Probably fashion weeks,” she says. “There’s such a delightful fun time to see friends in places that you wouldn’t usually see them. There’s an excitement to that. And then there’s obviously the deliciousness of the clothes that are walking down the runway.” It is the convergence of movement, familiarity and anticipation that resonates most.

That same sensibility underpins the new Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil. Reinvented under the direction of Peter Philips, the formula is now infused with cherry oil to deliver enhanced hydration and comfort, while maintaining its signature pH-reactive technology, which adapts to the natural tone of the lips. Available across three finishes, Juicy, Sparkly and Glaze, the line expands into sixteen shades, each designed to offer high shine with a refined, treatment-led approach.

Taylor-Joy’s preferences lean towards shades that feel intuitive rather than performative. “For me, it’s a toss up between the Peachy Glow and the Black Cherry,” she explains. “Peachy glow is a really great one for every day. It accentuates your natural lips. It’s very subtle, but it does give you an umph. And then Black Cherry is just my favourite colour in life.”

That affinity surfaces again when discussing the campaign visuals. “I love the glaze in shade Black Cherry,” she says. “I love a darker shade of red. It’s always just been the colour that I’ve gravitated towards.” There is no attempt to decode the choice. It simply feels right.

If make-up is about immediacy, fragrance, for Taylor-Joy, is about memory. Dior Addict introduces three new eaux de parfum, Rosy Glow, Peachy Glow and Purple Glow, created by Francis Kurkdjian as modern interpretations of rose, jasmine and iris, each expressed through a gourmand, fruit-inflected lens.

Of the three, Peachy Glow holds particular personal meaning. “It has a jasmine accord,” she says. “When I was growing up, my mom loved jasmine, and so it was all over our house. It brings me back to a very specific time in childhood and a memory that I hold very precious.”

Scent, she explains, plays an intimate role in her work as an actor. “I find a new perfume for every character that I play,” she says. “It creates a time capsule of sorts. When I stop wearing it and encounter it again later, I’m instantly transported to a very specific time and a specific group of people.”

That sense of transformation mirrors her long-standing collaboration with Dior. Having joined the House in 2021, Taylor-Joy describes the relationship as one built over time rather than moments. “I think it’s so wonderful when you have the opportunity to have relationships that span over a period of time. You don’t just get to know somebody’s personality on a day to day basis. You get to know them year by year,” she says. “It’s always been fun to go back to the same group of collaborators and see how quickly we work together and how we’ve figured each other out. There’s really a trust there and it’s wonderful to know that you can go into a shooting day and not worry about any variables—knowing what we’re all there to do and that makes it relaxed and genuinely enjoyable.”

Working alongside Willow Smith and Jisoo in the Dior Addict campaign has further reinforced that sense of ease. “We’re all so different, and yet we find so many things to connect upon,” Taylor-Joy reflects. “Even with very busy schedules, we find the time to support one another. I know for a fact that those two girls have my back, and I feel the exact same way.”

Authenticity, for Taylor-Joy, is not something that can be styled or planned. “I feel most authentically myself when I’ve kind of forgotten myself,” she says. “When I’m in the process of true creation, I’m not thinking about how I’m perceived. I’m just in the moment. That’s when I feel most beautiful.”

Outside of work, she relies on rituals that travel easily. “It’s a work in progress,” she admits of self-care. “But I’m devoted to my bath. Regardless of which country I’m in, it’s my time to reconnect with myself. I’m definitely a better person when I’ve had a bath the night before.” Even her indulgences remain understated. “I have a strong addiction to tea,” she says. “I don’t drink, so when I go to the bar, I order a cup of tea. I feel quite gangster hanging out in a club with a cup of tea.”

As for beauty trends, she prefers personal discovery over prescription. “Something I started doing a year ago is an extended brow,” she says. “I love how it frames my face. It makes me feel almost villainous. It really sets me up for the night I’m going to have.”

Her Dior essentials reflect that balance of polish and restraint. Her three must-haves are the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara and Diorshow Brow Styler in Brown, and the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in Black Cherry.

Here, Dior Addict returns to its essence. A swipe of high-shine colour, a fragrance that lingers close to the skin, each designed to move easily through the day. The new Lip Glow Oils and trio of scents bring together shine, care and scent in a way that feels natural and forever Dior.
