Inside Dior Beauty’s Enchanting Circus of Dreams Pop-Up in Penang
Dior Beauty brought a touch of Parisian magic to Penang with its Circus of Dreams pop-up installation at Gurney Plaza. Our weekend began at The Millan Hotel, a sleek new stay just ten minutes from the mall, before heading over to see the spectacle for ourselves.
Dior Beauty turns Gurney Plaza into a wonderland with its Circus of Dreams pop-up—a celebration of fragrance, make-up, and festive joy.
At the centre court, the scene felt like stepping into a festive fairground. Performers on stilts, jugglers, and a parade of circus-inspired characters welcomed guests into a space draped in gold. The highlight was the towering golden tree—glimmering beneath the lights—surrounded by Dior’s signature scents and symbols of luck.
Inside, the pop-up unfolded like a journey through Dior’s holiday universe. The three-metre tree shimmered with the Maison’s sun-star emblem, while familiar favourites like J’adore, Miss Dior, and Sauvage filled the air. Alongside them sat this season’s most covetable pieces, including the exclusive L’Or de J’adore Music Box, available only at the Penang pop-up.
Guests could explore everything from La Collection Privée Christian Dior fragrances to the luxurious Dior Prestige skincare line. The Piste aux Étoiles candle—a limited-edition creation by Francis Kurkdjian—added a touch of festive warmth. Over at the Beauty Fitting area, make-up consultations featured Peter Philips’ holiday collection, a range of golden, glowing shades made for celebration.
For those who love a personal touch, the Dior Art of Gifting station offered customised ribbons and engraving services, while the Patisserie Bar served coffee, tea, and dainty treats inspired by the season.
We also asked a few of our Friends of BAZAAR to share what they fell in love with at the Circus of Dreams. Jane Chuck picked the Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush, and Zhen Ning chose Dior Sauvage eau de parfum. Both Koe Yeet and Ashley Lau were drawn to the Rouge Dior Sequin Liquid Duo, while Jack Gohr gravitated towards the Dior Lucky eau de parfum. Han Pin opted for the Piste Aux Étoiles candle, and Lisha Ho selected the Diorshow 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Plum Parade and Dior Forever Glow Luminizer in Dior Star.
The Circus of Dreams pop-up and installation will be at Gurney Plaza from now till 16 November, for more information, click here!
