In a landmark collaboration that bridges the worlds of skincare and science, La Mer has joined forces with the Salk Institute for Biological Studies to advance research into cellular energy, regeneration, and healthy ageing. This three-year partnership marks the first of its kind for the renowned research institute, and reflects La Mer’s long-standing commitment to understanding how bioenergetic science can support the skin’s natural vitality.

At the heart of the collaboration lies the newly launched La Mer Healthy Ageing Fellowship, awarded to postdoctoral researcher Ankita Chadda in Professor Agnieszka Kendrick’s lab at Salk. Her work will explore how ageing affects the intricate transport systems within cells—discoveries that could shed light on new strategies for maintaining cellular health and even help address neurodegenerative conditions in the future.
