Transcending just perfumery, the Myriad fragrance sees an exceptional collaboration between two creative minds: master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, and architect Frank Gehry. The latest edition to the Les Extraits collection, Myriad embodies the harmony between two creatives guided by a shared obsession, focusing on breaking free of convention to create pure emotion.
Heavily inspired by the fabulous diversity of nature, Myriad pays tribute to the extraordinary colour palette of life. “She is our guide,” Master Perfumer attests. “Frank and I both love the wind that gusts through the world around us. We love movement and fluidity, two notions that are at the heart of the Les Extraits Collection.”
For his sixth creation for the Les Extraits Collection, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud embarks on a captivating journey into the world of oud, a wood so precious it’s often referred to as “black gold.” “It’s an exceptional note that has always fascinated me,” he explains.
With oud taking centre stage, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud naturally decided to add various floral elements to strike a perfect balance. Meticulously crafting a bespoke rose, he blends the crispness of Bulgarian rose essence with the full-bodied richness of May rose absolute. Then, saffron enhances the inherently leathery and spicy facets of oud, while cocoa extract introduces a sensuous and primal duality. A dense embrace of ambrette and white musk elevates the fragrance, infusing it with vitality and allowing it to linger gently on the skin, while a hint of moss adds a final, subtle touch.
The new Myriad fragrance will be available from the 19th of October so keep a look out for it then.
