A woman is stylish when she has confidence, charm, and poise. She is the woman who is always wearing the outfit.” – Mariam Teh

Styled to the nines in a floor-length fur coat and her own embellished Valentino dress, Mariam exudes a certain old-school glamour, reminiscent of ’30s Chinese icon Zhou Xuan, especially when photographed singing in the bathtub. She is evidently in her own element, transporting those around her to another moment in time until she breaks character; her bubbly personality juxtaposing the dramatic mood. With all that youthful exuberance, it’s hard to believe Mariam is a mother of three boys, though she makes full use of it juggling her time between her family and overseeing development projects on the east coast of the peninsula. “Fashion is an extension of an individual’s mind,” she says. “An individual’s fashion choices are an expression of her character, and can tell a story of the choices made, which beautifully tell her story.”
