PUTERI ZAHARUDIN-VARRICCHIO, 33, CEO Fleuri Flowers and Fleuri events

Dress, Puteri’s own. Bracelet; and necklace, both from Bvlgari.

When I dress up, I cross between Carolina Herrera chic, and the glitz of Balmain.” – Puteri Zaharudin-Varricchio

“I’m channelling a rich man’s widow, who has just inherited billions after his passing and is now figuring out what to do with all this wealth,” Puteri Zaharudin-Varricchio jokes, much to the amusement of everyone on set. She resembles Daisy Fellowes, the celebrated fashion icon and heiress to the Singer sewing machine empire, in her own custom Mimpikita gown, frosted with dazzling diamonds. Her bubbly demeanour however, juxtaposes the dramatic mood of the Penthouse, and we wouldn’t expect less from one of Kuala Lumpur’s most sought-after event and floral designers. Still, Puteri insists she is “old school”. “I love how women in the past used to perm their hair, and walked to the nearest coffee shop dressed to the nines,” she confesses. “I truly stand by Tom Ford when he said, ‘Dressing well is a form of good manners’.”
