3.1 Phillip Lim Celebrates 20 Years With ‘Memories of Joy’ for SS25

A homage to joy.

Set in the buzzing Chelsea neighbourhood of Manhattan, Manhattan’s energy provided the perfect backdrop for the unveiling of 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection. However, this was unlike any other collection preview. It was a celebration.

A momentous occasion to celebrate 20 years in business.

With the sun blazing at an all-time high, guests walked in to celebrate the anticipation of his Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Front-row seats were filled with Ashley Graham, Leon Bridges, Coco Rocha, Devon Windsor, Tika Sumpter, and beyond.

When we spoke to Phillip Lim about the collection, he expressed that his ‘Memories of Joy’ collection is a love letter to 3.1 Phillip Lim in all its iterations. “We have also stayed true to who we are in this collection—it is a wardrobe for the modern global citizen.”

Business partners Phillip Lim and Wen Zhou kicked off their journey with their first presentation in 2005. When asked how this collection differs from his previous work, Phillip explained that it’s like taking classic silhouettes and throwing a little madness on them. “That twist is our signature, and that makes each piece unique. We set out twenty years ago to romance reality, and that has never changed.”

As the grand finale, Faye Wong’s cover of The Cranberries’ “Dream” filled the room. Adding to the emotional note of the 20-year celebration was a roar of applause as they cheered on with tears in their eyes. Being there to witness it all gave us a sense of liberation and a deep appreciation for the beauty of 3.1 Phillip Lim’s world.
