1) Sofia Richie’s wedding
Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge’s wedding was labelled this year’s royal wedding. Back in April, the couple tied the knot in the South of France in a gorgeous ceremony that was nothing short of a fairy tale.
Held over a weekend at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, the bride wore three custom-made Chanel gowns for the occasion.
“I want to thank Virginie, Olivia, and all of my Chanel family for helping make my wedding dress so special. I felt like a princess, and I will forever be grateful for them and this experience,” expressed Sofia in an Instagram post.
Following the months leading up to her wedding, Sofia Richie became the face of quiet luxury — a trend that soared in popularity this year. Fashion darlings found themselves dialling it down on the heavy logos and instead adorning versatile pieces that whisper timelessness, understated elegance and sophistication.
2) Barbie core
The highly anticipated release of Greta Gerwig’s film Barbie was responsible for one of 2023’s biggest fashion spectacles that painted the world pink.
Among the world’s take on Barbie fashion, the movie’s lead, Margot Robbie flawlessly brought the role of Barbie to life, gracing red carpets and promotional events with her wardrobe curated by her stylist Andrew Mukamal.
3) The Opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre
The opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre(NMACC) marked a star-studded celebration of art, creativity, culture and heritage. Envisioned by Nita Mukesh Ambani, the NMACC strives to bring together creatives from around the world in keeping with their commitment to showcasing and preserving Indian arts.
The prestigious opening in Mumbai was a grand extravaganza celebrated over a weekend, with red carpets, parties, dance, theatre, musical performances, panels and exhibitions — where A-listers graced us with their phenomenal looks.
4) Lewis Hamilton Fashion Week
Aside from his record-breaking career in Formula 1, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is infamous for his stellar wardrobe and sensational fashion statements. From making his way through the paddock during race weekends to gracing red carpets and press events, Lewis is always one to do it in style.
5) Sabata De Sarno’s Gucci debut
This year, Sabata De Sarno made his debut as Gucci’s new creative director following the departure of former creative director Alessandro Michele.
The Gucci Ancora collection for Spring/Summer 2024 was showcased at Milan Fashion Week and created a buzz with its rebrand for Gucci. Moving away from Gucci’s maximalist patterns and prints under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, the new collection exuded minimalistic, classic and timeless pieces, moving Gucci in a new direction, treading back to its roots.
6) The 2023 Met Gala
The annual Met Gala took place on the first Monday in May, celebrating the life and work of the late Karl Lagerfeld with the theme ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A line of beauty’. Honouring the designer’s legacy, the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, were transformed into a red carpet where stars graced us with their best looks to commemorate fashion’s biggest night out of the year.

The Academy Museum gala recently took place, commemorating the museum’s anniversary, with the world’s biggest names in attendance, from Meryl Streep to Sofia Coppola and Michael B Jordan.

8) Bottega Veneta’s latest campaign
Bottega Veneta recently unveiled its latest campaign, starring ASAP Rocky and Kendall Jenner in a series of paparazzi images decked out in the house’s pre-spring 2024 collection.
Instead of opting for a conventional campaign photo shoot, Bottega acquired a series of candid photos from Getty and Backgrid and turned them into their pre-Spring 2024 campaign.
9) Jacob Elordi’s wardrobe
Jacob Elordi has won the hearts of many over the years. The Australian actor has established himself as a fashion icon with his cool and timeless wardrobe, an enviable collection of bags and effortless amalgamation of masculine and feminine silhouettes in his looks.
This year, aside from his thriving acting career where he notably portrayed Elvis in the Priscilla Presley biopic ‘Priscilla’, he took fashion by storm by attending Valentino’s show at fashion week, showing off his off-duty style and gracing us with several chic looks during his film promotions and red carpets.
