Fashion Recap: 10 Best Moments from KLFW 2021

Earlier this month, Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) returned for its seventh instalment in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.  Established in 2013, KLFW has seen many notable fashion moments – one of which includes a virtual run in 2020 due to the pandemic – as well as discovered countless talents in the industry, whether in terms of design, modelling, photography, makeup and hair artistry, and more.

With 26 physical shows taking place throughout the affair, KLFW was not short of show-stopping moments. Partnering with Samsung Malaysia, as well as Ambank and Lexus Malaysia, the week-long event was truly a much-needed reconnection across all industries.

Of their collaboration, Elaine Soh, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Malaysia Electronics said, “We are thrilled to be part of the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week event that celebrates and brings together emerging designers that are shaping the future of Malaysian fashion while supporting the goal of reviving the fashion industry in Malaysia. At Samsung, we believe this moment requires a new way forward and a new era of ‘openness’, where technology works for us and not the other way around. We create tailored experiences that empower you, and the Galaxy Z series is designed for how you live your life so we can match your style with iconic designs and colours."

Coming out of the pandemic, designers were eager to showcase bigger, better and brighter. Hatta Dolmat created a beautiful sustainable batik collection named OCEAN’US using material made of recycled PET (plastic bottles). Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Izree Kai Haffiz and Hafizi Radzi Woo as well as their team at FIZI WOO delivered more than 100 pieces in one month for 36 looks.
