From Prada to Bottega Venetta, the colour red painted the Autumn/Winter season, and even made its way into Spring 2024 collections. Designers showed us how easily we can embed red into our day-to-day wardrobes; Ferragamo perfectly combined red and knitwear, while Jacquemus added a gorgeous variety of red to their signature handbags, accessories and shoes. On the other hand, Coach presented a variety of knit and lace slip dresses in red hues for their Spring 2024 line. From full-on monochrome looks to nail polish and accessories, the shade has carved a place for itself in fashion, timelessly continuing to illustrate its flare.

It was a dazzling year for lovers of all things shiny, specifically silver. Beyonce’s Rennaissance tour was a spectacle that sparked an added flurry of silver shimmer this year, alongside many fashion houses and designers. Coach, Prada and Gucci unveiled silver spins on their signature handbags while Onitsuka Tiger and Adidas presented a trendy take on their classic sneaker designs in silver, accompanying their silhouettes on the runway. A versatile shade perfect for day-to-night, posing futuristic qualities and nods to the past, it is safe to say that silver shined and starred in 2023’s top trends.

Crisp shirts, classic loafers and blazers were some of the pieces that tied together the trend of workwear staples. Miu Miu did a fabulous job with this trend, showcasing tailored jackets, sweaters and a variety of skirts. Taking you from the office by day to a dinner party by night, the workwear staples trend added a chic, edgy and sophisticated take to the 2023 wardrobes.

7) Quiet Luxury

Contradictory to splashy logos, classic wardrobe pieces from linen to cashmere grew in popularity, especially within luxury fashion houses including Victoria Beckham, Loro Piana, and Max Mara. Throughout this year, Sofia Richie Grainge has been one of the faces of understated luxury. From her elegant wedding dresses to her casual looks on social media, she embodies quiet luxury.

Notable details of fashion collections this year draw attention to trends from one season moving into the next, perhaps moving fashion in a new direction. This subtle notion may allude to encouraging the embrace of an outlook on fashion that is not as rigid as trends expected to change drastically every season. As clothing evolves, each piece can hold a unique charm due to its individuality and what it means to the wearer or designer.
