BAZAAR speaks with founders and sister duo Farah Hani and Tati Hani about their recent ‘BECOMING’ Collection.
If there’s one thing we’ve noticed about Hani Mokhta, it’s their bold use of colours and prints that captivates every fashion maven. Through each drop and silhouette, it’s what makes their vision so distinctly ‘Hani Mokhta’. Founded in 2018 by Farah Hani and Tati Hani, the brand combines their passion for fashion with their strong familial bond. With the roaring success of their RTW collection year after year, this year was no different. As they launch their Hari Raya 2026 ‘Becoming’ Collection, the story behind it comes across so beautifully. It’s a collection designed for every chapter of life—an exploration of growth and the embrace of every layer of womanhood, inspiring a deep connection and appreciation for these themes.
This is Becoming. Discover more about the story behind it and hear what Farah Hani and Tati Hani have to say about their collection.
Dive into Hani Mokhta’s ‘BECOMING’ Collection:
What was the inspiration for the ‘Becoming’ collection?
Farah Hani: With Becoming, we wanted to challenge ourselves creatively. For the past three years, pastel florals became a strong part of our visual language, but this season felt like the right moment to expand our creative muscle and colour further outside the lines. We’ve always been interested in reinterpreting prints in unexpected ways. Part of the inspiration came from the boldness of international brands we aspire to become and our time shooting the Becoming campaign in India, where print and textile craftsmanship are embraced unapologetically.
Being immersed in that vibrancy naturally inspires a more expressive approach to design. Not only that, we travel often to immerse ourselves in textile traditions and craftsmanship, and those experiences naturally influence our perspective. More importantly, we take cues from the women around us; their strength, individuality, and constant evolution.

Tati Hani: This collection is also deeply personal. Our Creative Director, Farah, is stepping into a new sense of femininity as she becomes more in tune with motherhood. There’s a softness, strength, and quiet confidence that comes with that evolution. Becoming reflects this transition: an exploration of growth, identity, and embracing all the layers of womanhood. Becoming is about transformation. It’s stepping into something more expressive, more confident, and less confined.
We noticed that paisley played a major role in this year’s collection—what inspired you to take on the curving design for Raya, and were there any other patterns you were thinking of exploring but didn’t?
Farah Hani: For the Raya collection, the paisley design was deeply intentional. We’ve always loved playing with nostalgia, nodding to heritage and cultural references that are close to our hearts. Growing up, paisley was a print we often saw our relatives wear during festive seasons and special occasions.
It holds emotional memory for us, which makes it especially meaningful for Raya. At the same time, paisley carries a beautiful sense of movement within its curves that is fluid, expressive, and timeless. It allowed us to honour tradition while reinterpreting it through our modern, non-conventional lens.
We explored other abstract and geometric directions during development. Still, we kept returning to Paisley because it felt the most honest and aligned with the story we wanted to tell, one that bridges memory, heritage, and bold self-expression.
Are there any particular stories or experiences that influenced the designs in this collection?
Tati Hani: This collection was shaped by both our experiences and our instinct to constantly evolve. Our travels, especially spending time in places like India, where print, colour, and textile craftsmanship are embraced so unapologetically, have always influenced us. Being immersed in that richness naturally encourages us to think more boldly.
But beyond what we see, it’s also who we are. At our core, we are non-conventional in our prints, silhouettes, and colour combinations. We genuinely love to experiment and have never shied away from dressing boldly. After several seasons of pastel florals, we felt ready to challenge ourselves creatively and push beyond what felt familiar.
Becoming reflects that evolution. It embodies confidence, individuality, and a rebellious spirit. It’s a celebration of women who express themselves freely and aren’t afraid to stand apart.
