Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2026 Collection is a Majestic Journey Through Time and Elegance

A kaleidoscope of colours and patterns.

Set in the heart of Avignon, Louis Vuitton unveils its Cruise 2026 collection against the majestic Palais des Papes.

The inspiring backdrop that sets the scene for the runway show is a UNESCO World Heritage site steeped in history and artistry. With the Cour d’Honneur as its stage, the Maison invites us to embark on a transformative journey. Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière’s vision for this collection is a celebration of the performative nature of clothing itself—an exploration of how garments can shift our identities and elevate our spirits.

As the city buzzes with the energy of its renowned theatre festival, one can only anticipate the show’s powerful showcase of sartorial storytelling. The runway illuminated against empty-tiered theatre seats, echoing the town’s famous festival. In attendance were a sea of stars with the likes of Emma Stone, Alicia Vikander, Hoyeon, Sophie Turner, Saoirse Ronan, Felix, Jaden Smith and more.

Step into the world of Louis Vuitton with its Cruise 2026 collection:

As models strut down the runway, it’s clear that the collection exudes hints of romance with ruffles and chiffons, coupled with a sense of edge with leathers and embroideries. The initial impression evokes a medieval setting but with a contemporary twist that is undeniably stylish.
If this were a play, we would declare this collection the ideal costume for the rebels and royals who know a thing or two about style.

You’ll find patterns that mimic the coats of arms and graphic stripes, which almost resemble a jester. However, in true Ghesquière fashion, his design elements did not stray far in this collection. Signature details such as bulky shoulders, metallic accents, broken mirror embellishments, and high-low gowns remain prominent in the collection. For the daring, pieces that resemble layers of petals struck us as they appear on tops and skirts, creating a dramatic effect.

Adding to the allure were elegant details that caught our eye with shearling and fur collars, fringed chains, geometric patterns and brocade fabrications that exude a sense of elegance and sophistication.

As the finale unfolds, the enchanting spectacle reaches its epic close. Models posed in small clusters within the tiered red theatre seats, gazing down at the audience. As Ghesquière made his grand entrance, weaving through the rows, it became clear that the Cruise 2026 collection was a transformative power. This was a celebration of fashion as an exhilarating form of expression–one that connects us all and ignites our imaginations.
