Balenciaga’s Winter 2023 campaign brings the iconic fashion house back to its birthplace and soon-to-be couture and creative headquarters – 10-12 Avenue George V.
The legendary place transports us to a world of luxury, where Cristóbal Balenciaga unveiled his French Couture House in 1937. Fast forward to 2021, Demna has breathed life into this iconic address with his first couture collection. The Winter 2023 campaign now offers a tantalising preview of the forthcoming Balenciaga headquarters, where haute couture dreams are destined to come true.
A closer look at Balenciaga’s Winter 2023 campaign:
Tyler Mitchell captured stunning campaign images and videos of the historic address currently undergoing renovation, teasing at an exciting homecoming. The upcoming couture salons, set to open soon, will be expanded and include couture and RTW ateliers, along with new offices in the building.
The Winter 23 Collection embraces deconstructed tailoring, with signature pieces such as tracksuits, denim and leather jackets, suiting, and jeans—reinvented as inverted or doubled-up approaches, furthering the brand’s experimentation with hybridity.
Additionally, you’ll find pleated blouses and skirts, along with eveningwear lace, bead-embroidered gowns, fitted sweatsuits, and more with an elevated couture silhouette with cinched waists and rounded shoulders.
The collection also introduces the Monaco Bag line, the Anatomic and Biker Boot lines, and the 3XL Sock Shoe, as well as updated classics with a bold approach.
Actress Isabelle Huppert and models Vittoria Ceretti, Minttu Vesala, Arthur del Beato, Nyawurh Chuol, Yura Nakano, and Mathieu Simoneau are confidently portrayed amidst the soon-to-be expanded headquarters, with loose wires, unfinished walls, and scattered tools surrounding them.
