The Indonesian actress is the face of Alia B’s festive campaign, Mirage.
Veteran Malaysian fashion designer, Alia Bastamam taps one of Indonesia’s most beloved actresses, Pevita Pearce, to front her latest ready-to-wear collection, Mirage. In this collection, she draws inspiration from Malaysian tradition, Japanese design language, and Nusantara heritage, fusing it with her signature resort-style aesthetic. Pearce represents this harmonious combination of cultures; the actress herself has British-Indonesian roots, spending time between Jakarta and New York City as a student, pursuing an acting career in Jakarta, and now, splitting her time between Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur after marrying Mirzan Meer, the scion of the family behind Malaysian jewellery brand, Habib Jewels, in 2024.
Pearce has amassed a loyal following in Southeast Asia for her on-screen talent in films, such as Lost in Love (2008), Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck (2013) and more recently, Sri Asih (2023). She has also become beloved for her off-screen persona, in which she shares her love for fashion, jewellery, music, and travel. Her collaboration with Alia B is an extension of her interest in fashion, especially as Alia B expands its presence in Southeast Asia, presenting its ready-to-wear creations to neighbours in Jakarta and Brunei for the first time with Mirage.
We caught up with Pevita Pearce at the debut of Mirage in Kuala Lumpur, attended by the city’s biggest stars, including Mimi Lana, Marion Caunter, Daiyan Trisha, and more.

What was it like shooting the campaign for Alia B’s Mirage?
It was so exciting; I’ve been a big fan of the brand for years. It’s such an honour to be their muse for their newest collection. I love the silhouette and the Nusantara inspiration; I love that it’s so classic, timeless, with a touch of modern elements.

What’s your favourite thing about being in Kuala Lumpur?
I love the people. I love the food. I love the infrastructure. I love being around my husband’s family.
How will you be celebrating Hari Raya 2026?
With the people that matter the most: my family.
We have to ask. What can you tell us about your upcoming projects?
I am currently working on a new movie. It’s a biopic of Rose Pandanwangi (a legendary seriosa Indonesian singer). I’m actually shooting right now. I flew in to Kuala Lumpur just for Alia B’s event and tomorrow. I’ll be flying back to Jakarta tomorrow, ready to shoot on location as soon as I land. We’re going to be shooting on film, which is really exciting. Of course, I can’t wait for the BAZAAR team to be at the premiere!
