Moschino pulled all time classic looks—’50s cocktail dresses and sirens, Le Smoking and even plain old bikinis, underwear and t-shirts—were sketched out on stiff materials and accented with the little paper tabs that instantly recall our childhood paper doll games. The faux fashion looked most fun on hyper femme dresses and gowns, like the kind Monroe wore over the subway grate. There was enough volume and ruffling to fill any little fashion-loving girl’s heart.
Roberto Cavalli‘s Peter Dundas Turkish Iznik florals showed up in the blue-and-white floral fly-away dresses, while military-meets-Native American jackets were embellished with beads and paired with slightly flared skinny trousers. The skinny trouser-and-blazer combo was revisited in every colour and print imaginable. Hippie rock chicks need options.
Silvia Venturini Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld are springing to Spring/Summer 2017 with statement stripes, their Fendi collection was somewhat more casual than we are used to, and, low and behold, almost fur-less! Stripes, on the other hand, came in all colours, horizontal and vertical, thick and pinstripe, on crop tops, oversized shirt dresses, jackets, bags, cargo trousers, even on knitted sock boots.
