Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Hits: The White Shirt Redux

The White Shirt Redux

There’s only so many ways you could re-work a wardrobe staple, but Spring/Summer 2016 showed that designers had no problem reimagining our favourite white shirt. Asymmetrical necklines ruled the runways at Anthony Vaccarello, Jil Sander, Zac Posen and Issa, while exaggerated sleeves took form at 3.1 Philip Lim, Proenza Schouler, Vera Wang and Fendi. Feeling a little sophisticated? British designer Amanda Wakeley upped the ante with a light and flowy shirt-tail that could make for a dramatic and polished setting with a pair of jeans.
