President of the Tod’s Group, confirms that the Tod’s Group is prepared to finance the complete restoration of the Colosseum in Rome, taking on the entire costs of the project as initially proposed in their first official bid. Lorenzo Ornaghi, Italian Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities, Mariarosaria Barbera, Superintendent of Rome Archaeological Heritage, Gianni Alemanno, Mayor of Rome, and Diego Della Valle, President of the Tod’s Group,  announced today the timing and the phases of the restoration of the Coliseum, together with the details of the sponsorship.

The restoration of such an important monument, which represents Italy in the world, through a strong synergy between the private and the public sector, is an example that should be followed, above all by the biggest Italian companies. The Italian cultural assets represent a unique heritage of beauty no one else owns. Bringing them back to their original status will allow us to improve tourism in Italy and to build more companies and employment, especially for younger generations. Young people will get a job and at the same time will be able to contribute to the cultural and economic development of our Country, being proud to do that. This is not a dream, but reality: all we have to do is do it and do it now,” – Diego Della Valle, President of Tod’s Group.
