The Valentino Garavani DeVain bag enters the digital world
Valentino presents a digital creative project in collaboration with nine international artists, where the beloved Valentino Garavani DeVain bag is the main character. For the first chapter of this exciting new project, the works of five artists–Enter The Void, Paul Octavious, Albert Planella, Thomas Albdorf, and Tina Tona–are revealed.
Among these artists, the first three have used imagery generated using AI. This marks Valentino’s burgeoning relationship with AI. In September 2025, Valentino released its first AI-generated campaign for its collaboration with Vans, rendering imagery from original visual material captured during the Valentino Le Méta-Théâtre Des Intimités show. With this campaign, it hopes to “expand its ongoing dialogue between human creativity and digital experimentation, reaffirming the value of artistic collaboration as an authentic expression of contemporaneity”, according to the Italian fashion house.
This time, the DeVain is the starting point. It inspires a series of videos with unique visual narratives and identities, from grainy vintage interpretations to surrealist underwater worlds.
Take a look below.
Enter The Void
Enter The Void builds a dreamy underwater desert hotel, inhabited by floating fishes and bags, where perception dissolves and the boundaries of time and space fade away.
Thomas Albdorf
Thomas Albdorf creates a series of studio-based video explorations where the bag is reflected across mirrored surfaces. Through the interplay of symmetry and texture, he constructs sculptural compositions in which the DeVain multiplies and transforms, suspended between reality and illusion.
Paul Octavious
The DeVain bag is transported to the animated digital world of 16th-century art. His works merge historical mastery and contemporary sensibility, transforming static imagery into more.
Albert Planella
What happens to the DeVain bag when it is suspended between lucidity and dreams. This AI-generated reverie sees the DeVain bag as a metamorphic object.
Tina Tona
Chaotic and colourful, Tina Tona reimagines the Valentino Garavani bag in the style of vintage fashion campaigns.
