#HerStory: Marion Caunter Embodies Strength With Tiffany & Co.

Marion Caunter

The founder of Mare accounts that it is attainable to live in a world filled with softness, beauty and strength

For a time, women were continually pigeoned by others into playing the role they expected of them—an appendage to men—instilling an existential dread in generations of women. They’ve never had more freedom—from their choices for their future to how they choose to live their life. But, the hamster wheel eventually sputtered and ran out of fuel when today’s influential female voices rejected the centuries-old narrative—giving us hope that we are headed in the right direction.

That’s why it’s so imperative that we find ways to raise each other, celebrating our progress and achievements by continuing to advocate for future generations of women to come. Female trailblazers such as Marion Caunter, who have embraced the power of their womanhood— going through unimaginable ordeals to excel in all corners of their life, remoulding the meaning of strength in grace—are one of those who have inspired many women to do the same. “My experience of womanhood has been a real journey of self-discovery and growth. I’m living in peace with my authentic self,” Marion gushed.

As the founder of Mare, she has taken the agency of her determination, resilience and commitment to create a business empire that is reshaping the perception of success—inspiring the next generation of visionaries. She has carved a niche for herself in the beauty landscape challenging traditional norms and predetermined routes set by society. Relying on her strength, courage and authentic self, she has carved her own path of success with a beauty brand that boosts confidence, style and self-expression.

But, to her amassing an impressive array of accomplishments isn’t the only way to cultivate strong women. “Strength can be gentle, it can be kind and it can come in those quiet little moments. It’s the daily little challenges that we go through that make us stronger,” said Marion. Beyond the poised exterior, Marion embodies strength not just in making bold, important decisions but also in choosing love, courage and knowing your worth. “To give and receive love, you’ve got to love yourself first. You’ve got to be full from within.” For Marion, what speaks to her stretches from the essential to the sentimental and the purely ornamental too.

And, what does she mean by purely ornamental? For her, embracing strength is also reflected in decorative sartorial pieces such as jewellery. It’s hard not to attach meaning and emotional weight to jewellery pieces, but for a few people like Marion, jewellery reflects who she is, how she carries herself and who she wants to be. Jewellery is a certain kind of kinship that entirely prompts a rush of strength and inspiration for her. “I love that as a woman you can dress up however you want and embrace that femininity yet at the same time, you can also be strong,” she said. She adds: “I’d reincarnate as a woman any day.” When asked what’s some of her favourite jewellery to wear that makes her feel feminine and strong all at once, she immediately enthused about the HardWear by Tiffany collection—a collection that embodies an enduring resilience and ability to be free. HardWear is an expression of love’s transformative strength.

Here’s how Marion Caunter embodies strength with HardWear by Tiffany:

HardWear by Tiffany embodies the ethos of enduring resilience and the ability to be free. How do you as a woman relate to that testament and spirit?

As a woman who is constantly showcasing somewhat her whole life in public, I do cherish my freedom. Being free to me is important. It’s about being true to yourself without any restrictions. And, if you’re living as your true authentic self, strength will follow.

What’s your favourite HardWear by Tiffany accessory and how do you like to style it daily?

I’m absolutely in love with the HardWear by Tiffany link earrings. Big and small. It’s their signature gauge link and it makes such a bold statement. On the daily, I’ll wear the smaller version, but if I’m going out for a nice dinner, the big one comes out to play. Sometimes I like to layer them together, wearing them at the same time.

What do you like most about the HardWear by Tiffany collection and how do you feel when you put it on?

It’s so versatile and wearable. Whether I’m wearing a tee with jeans or a glamorous dress, it fits. This is a collection that resonates with me the most. It can take you from morning to night. Jewellery should be worn. It shouldn’t be kept in your safe. It should be a part of your life and your every day and that’s what the HardWear collection is for me.

How does putting on these beautiful pieces of jewellery generally make you feel?

I feel naked without any jewellery on. So, whenever I put on my HardWear jewellery, I feel ready to do anything. It lifts me up.

What one piece of jewellery should every woman have?

Jewellery is personal. Everyone is different and everyone should pick something they love individually. But, if I had to choose, it would be earrings.
