Swarovski and SKIMS Light Up NYC with its Flagship Store Opening- Harper's BAZAAR Malaysia

With Swarovski’s new Flagship store unveiled on Fifth Avenue, New York City, the gems came out to play. Joining Swarovski’s CEO Alexis Nasard, Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert, SKIMS CEO Jens Grede and Co-Founder and Creative Director Kim Kardashian are an array of A-list celebrities celebrating the momentous event.

With Kim Kardashian present, the likes of Ashley Graham, Indya Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Georgia May Jagger, Teyana Taylor, Cynthia Erivo and others were present to celebrate this occasion. To elevate the mood to greater heights, the event doubled as a celebration of Kim’s recent collaboration of SKIMS with the jewellery brand.

SKIMS mogul Kim Kardashian made a shimmering entrance as she stepped out from a bejewelled taxi in her glittery number. Kim was seen in a crystal halter-neck top and a matching skirt, paired with light grey Swarovski x SKIMS boxers underneath.

Launched on 7 November, the collaboration was a matchmade in heaven, merging Swarovski’s glitzy glamour with SKIM’s iconic silhouettes. In the collection, you’ll find two-piece sets, bodysuits, underwear, body chains and mesh dresses adorned with Swarovski jewellery.

Taken from her Instagram reel, Kardashian expresses her excitement for the collaboration. “I’ve always been a crystal girl and always so into Swarovski. I kept on seeing all the necklaces and these big stones, like ‘What? There was a change in Swarovski, and this is the change,” as she points to Swarovski’s Creative Director Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert.

For Giovanna, the collaboration was a long time coming. Taken from her Instagram post, the creative director shares, “I am proud to finally reveal an idea I had that turned to a vision that turned to… today! Since I became creative director of Swarovski, I wanted to collaborate with Skims, rooted in the imagination of the crystal that morphed into the skin. We worked with Kim on creating body jewellery, and so much more, that can be styled so many ways and truly unlocks the glamour in all of us. I can’t wait to show the full collection very soon.”
