There are studios, and then there is A24, and 2026 confirms that A24 is not slowing down. The studio has assembled a slate of films this year, spanning unexpected thriller, queer romance, fashion portraiture and comedy—all of it shot through with the studio’s signature commitment to being unique, intelligent and emotionally present. Not that the film will be easy, or comfortable, or even entirely explainable. But the film will mean something, and it will stay with you.
If you’ve been paying attention, you already have several dates blocked in your diary. If you’re only now tuning in, consider this your briefing.
All the new A24 films coming out in 2026 that should be on your watchlist:
Pillion
Based on Adam Mars-Jones’ novel Box Hill, Pillion follows Colin (a luminous, quietly devastating Harry Melling)—mild-mannered, directionless, sweetly ordinary—who finds himself inexplicably, irresistibly drawn into the orbit of Ray (Alexander Skarsgård, leather-clad and magnificent), an enigmatic biker who takes him on as his submissive. What unfolds is a BDSM love story of surprising delicacy.

Marc by Sofia
Shot by her brother Roman Coppola, the documentary follows Jacobs across the 12-week sprint to his Spring 2024 show at the Park Avenue Armory—a production-sized spectacle staged around monumental furniture sculptures by artist Robert Therrien. We watch him run his fingers over fabric swatches with silver-polished nails, debate the precise shade of hosiery, and draw inspiration from a constellation that includes Bob Fosse, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Elizabeth Taylor and the Supremes.

The Drama
From Kristoffer Borgli—the Norwegian director behind the Cannes-beloved Sick of Myself and Dream Scenario—The Drama follows Emma Harwood (Zendaya), a bookstore clerk from Baton Rouge, and Charlie Thompson (Pattinson), a British museum director with a PhD in art history, as their wedding week catastrophically unravels when one of them discovers something unsettling about the other. What exactly? A24 has been admirably tight-lipped about the central revelation—and we’ll follow their lead here.

Mother Mary
In Mother Mary, Hathaway plays Mother Mary, an iconic pop star who, in the midst of an identity crisis, flees her tour and arrives at the door of Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel), her estranged best friend and the fashion designer who helped build her public persona. What follows is described as a psychosexual affair, a meditation on fame and faith, and something approaching a séance.
Release Date: Spring 2026
The Death of Robin Hood
The Death By Robin Hood follows Robin Hood as he staggers toward what he believes to be his final hour. Battered and broken on the edge of oblivion, he is drawn into the care of an enigmatic woman—and with her, an unexpected reckoning. A story of sin, surrender, and the terrible grace of a second chance.

The Invite

An English-language remake of Cesc Gay’s Spanish comedy The People Upstairs, The Invite unfolds over a single evening in San Francisco. Joe and Angela (Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde) are a couple whose marriage has curdled into polite, floor-shaking resentment. Their upstairs neighbours—played by Edward Norton and a luminous Penélope Cruz—turn out to be swingers with a standing weekly invitation. What begins as a dinner party becomes something considerably more destabilising.
