As for Norris and Piastri, who earned a P2 and P3 finish, they battled it out on the track to earn a spot on the podium. On lap 29, Haas driver Esteban Ocon was forced into a shock retirement, causing a Virtual Safety Car to be issued. Additionally, this gave other drivers who had not pitted to emerge back on the track with fresher tyres.

Later on, in Lap 46, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli was also forced to retire, walking away with a disappointing debut at his home circuit. This unexpected turn of events, with Antonelli pulled off track, led to a Safety Car being deployed. This later allowed Verstappen and Norris to pit stop again, among other drivers.

However, Alex Albon was flying high as he secured a P5 finish, engaging in a thrilling battle on the track with Charles Leclerc. Albon crossed the finish line after a feisty struggle, where Albon was forced wide. Albon’s initial attack gave him an opportunity to secure his spot as Leclerc was forced to give his position back to avoid any possible penalty for his defence.

This season, it’s safe to say that both Williams cars are looking strong on the track. His teammate, Carlos Sainz, who started the race in P6, crossed the finish line in P8, further adding to William’s tally with points from the weekend. We look forward to witnessing the continued rise of the Williams team this season.
