The best bounties of the sea all in one place
Overflowing with blends of traditional Japanese and Peruvian flavours, Nobu is one of the most prominent restaurants in the world—founded by renowned chef, Nobu Matsuhisa. Dominated by eclectic bounties of sea dishes, Nobu is home to a breadth of gastronomical wonders. Brimmed with talented, steady-handed chefs, devout and self-respecting Japanese eaters will tell you that this is the place to be if you want a unique taste of Japan.
Since its global sensation, the restaurant has constantly introduced the next generation of Nobu chefs to different crooks and crannies of the world. From London to Istanbul and Bangkok, Nobu has had many milestones to celebrate—the latest one being Nobu Kuala Lumpur’s decade-old restaurant.
In honour of its 10th anniversary, Nobu Kuala Lumpur is offering an unforgettable dining experience throughout the year 2025 with its 10th Anniversary Omakase. “Nobu Kuala Lumpur’s 10th anniversary is a monumental milestone for our team, and I am incredibly honoured to have been part of this journey,” said Chef Philip Leong, Executive Chef of Nobu Kuala Lumpur. He adds: “Curating this evolving omakase menu allows us to honour the dishes that define our beloved establishment while embracing the seasons and inspirations. It’s a testament to our dedication to providing a unique and memorable dining experience for each guest.”
What to expect from Nobu Kuala Lumpur’s 10th anniversary omakase:
Dynamic and bursting with flavours, the 10th anniversary omakase is a wonderful journey that transports fervent diners to the culinary world of Japan in an eccentric way. Starting strong with a nori taco that’s drenched in caviar, the Omakase begins by tickling your taste buds with umami flavours. Mirroring Nobu’s codes of being explorative, the starter gets us excited for what lies ahead.
The omakase builds up with signature dishes such as the yellowtail jalapeno and salmon new style sashimi that’s complemented with oyster tiradito and whitefish dry miso. All of which are cold dishes that are blazing with a medley of sweet, salty and sour flavours.
Diners are then greeted by Nobu-style sushi— land and sea creatures all tucked onto soft, pillowy beds of rice. Sliced to perfection and with exacting precision, the seasonal and traditional seafood are pieces that will melt in your mouth like butter. It’s a symphony of flavours with every bite.
Shining bright in the omakase are the decadent hot dishes that put the spotlight on Chilean seabass but in three different forms. One is glazed with beetroot miso, the other in an umami coating and lastly, one is swimming in shiso salsa. Each variety showcases that the pull-apart fish is a work of art in any setting.
The omakase then ends with a beautiful rendition of wagyu beef that’s plated with corn, pepper and truffle—an opulent dish that seals the deal. The complexities of each bite of the beef will leave you wanting more. The best part? You can enjoy it with beverage pairings: champagne, wince and sake from the Hokusetsu brewery.
Making sure to give you a rounded and cohesive taste of Japan, the omakase will please you even more with its sweet delight—the chestnut meringue flambé. It’s not all savoury delights here at Nobu.
Whether you’re a food connoisseur or a newbie, Nobu’s 10th anniversary omakase is a great way to learn the impeccable flavours of Japan and other robust flavours. Discover more about Nobu Kuala Lumpur here.
