“When I walked around the city and visited the port, I was definitely inspired and excited by the marine vibe that Karl so beautifully captured in the show. I was so moved by that desire to return to his home town and to discover something new. I loved the sailor feel on the boys and girls, these strong masculine silhouettes which were also intricately decorated with the work of the Métiers d’art studios. In the same way the Elbphilharmonie is so impressive and so beautiful with this incredibly strong structure while at the same time embellished with all these modern
materials and textures. Karl and Chanel are always moving forward and the choice of the venue reflected this while achieving that level of elegance that is always the signature of the house.”
