In an unprecedented move, Princess Eugenie is opening up about her personal struggles with the condition scoliosis.
Sharing a new Instagram post this weekend, Princess Eugenie revealed some of her medical records, showing everyone the impact that the condition has had on her body. The royal wrote: “Today is International Scoliosis Awareness Day and I’m very proud to share my X Rays for the very first time. I also want to honour the incredible staff at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital who work tirelessly to save lives and make people better. They made me better and I am delighted to be their patron of the Redevelopment Appeal.”
She also shared a link to a website that details even more of her personal story.

And in her emotional video for the campaign, Princess Eugenie revealed, “I’m living proof that all these young people who have the same thing I have, maybe more so, or not, I have done it, I’ve been through it, and I want to be able to help as much as I can.”
As the Scoliosis Research Society explains: “Everyone’s spine has subtle natural curves. But some people have different curves, side-to-side spinal curves that also twist the spine. This condition is called ‘scoliosis.’ On an x-ray with a front or rear view of the body, the spine of a person with scoliosis looks more like an “S” or a “C” than a straight line.”
Princess Eugenie is preparing for her wedding to Jack Brooksbank this fall. Set to take place on October 12, 2018, Eugenie will marry her fiancé at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the very same location that Meghan Markle married Prince Harry.
