In the latest case of the Internet surprising everyone, a picture of an egg has become the most-liked post in Instagram history. The image – which was posted by an account called ‘World Record Egg’ – overtook Kylie Jenner’s post announcing the name of her daughter, Stormi Webster.
The picture of the egg was posted on 4 January with the aim of becoming the most-liked image on the social media site. To do this, the egg needed to get 18 million likes to overtake Jenner’s then-leading post, something which it has now done by a long way.
“Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram,” the caption read. “Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this.”

The post has so far managed to get almost 30 million likes, taking Jenner’s record by storm.

The reality star saw the funny side of the challenge though and posted a video of herself breaking an egg on the pavement to get her revenge.
Jenner has held the most-liked record for almost a year, before this, those including her sister Kendall Jenner, her half-sister Kim Kardashian West and singer Selena Gomez have all held the position. But will anyone ever be able to overtake the egg?
