DA MARIA

Bringing a slice of the Amalfi coast to Indonesia, Da Maria is a contemporary twist on classic Italian hospitality where one can pair pizza with partying, as they serve up their wide selection of gourmet doughy dishes until late into the night. The brainchild of Australian restauranteur Maurice Terzini and Adrian Reed (of nearby Motel Mexicola fame), it’s a stunning Osteria-style set-up straight out of the sixties. The brilliant blue and white décor is a dazzling homage to the sparkling seas and gleaming villas of the Italian coastline.

The food philosophy is unpretentious, plating up traditional pizzas and pastas inspired by Neopolitan artisan techniques – cooked in stone ovens, naturally. At 10:30pm, dinner turns into dancing on the tables, to the sound of a smooth house soundtrack courtesy of iconic Sydney DJ, Kali. Aperol and Campari are mainstays on the drinks menu, blended to refreshing perfection with local fruits. Da Maria even makes its very own vermouth, and other in-house liqueurs. Bellissimo.
