“Lost in the Fire” Reference That May Be About Drake:
The Lyrics: “And I just want a baby with the right one / ‘Cause I would never be the one to hide one,” he sings in the first verse.
Background: Ahead of the June 2018 release of Drake’s chart-topping album Scorpion, Kanye West’s labelmate Pusha T ignited a fued with Drizzy and alleged the Toronto rapper is a deadbeat father who is hiding a baby he had with an adult film star.
In his response to Drake’s song, “Duppy Freestyle,” Pusha T raps in his song, “The Story of Adidon:” “Since you name-dropped my fiancée / Let ’em know who you chose as your Beyoncé / Sophie knows better as your baby mother / Cleaned her up for IG, but the stench is on her/ A baby’s involved, it’s deeper than rap / We talkin’ character, let me keep with the facts / You are hiding a child, let that boy come home / Deadbeat mothaf**** playin’ border patrol, ooh.”
Drake did not respond to respond to Pusha’s diss track directly; however, he mentioned his newborn son in three of the 25 tracks of his double-album which released at the end of June: “Emotionless,” “8 Out of 10,” and “March 14.”
