Jaeger-LeCoultre releases a new video starring its brand ambassador Benedict Cumberbatch.

To celebrate the launch of its new Polaris Perpetual Calendar watch, Jaeger-LeCoultre welcomes a new perpetual calendar model. Powered by a movement similar to the one used in the 2019 Master Ultra-Thin Perpetual model, the campaign stars brand ambassador Benedict Cumberbatch.

Reflecting the concept of time and its relationship with three natural environments: lakes, forests, and the heavens, in the video Perpetual Motion, Cumberbatch is engrossed in each of these environments, while narrating a text that reflects the concepts of perpetual movement and action.

Perpetual Timekeeping

The calendar indications are displayed in three subdials against a matte blue gradient lacquered dial: the month and year at noon, the days of the week at 3 o’clock, and the date at 9 o’clock.

The Polaris Perpetual Calendar is housed in a 100m water-resistant 42mm steel or pink gold case. Polaris design codes such as the thin bezel and glass-box crystal are honoured, and the case (as well as steel bracelet) features a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. The two crowns serve different purposes: the top crown rotates the inner bezel, while the lower crown sets the time and winds the watch. A single pusher controls the calendar settings. The pink gold model includes a blue rubber strap and also an alligator strap with a folding buckle.

The line has been significantly scaled up and modified this time around, with a retrograde display of the Southern Hemisphere moon phases complementing the classic Northern Hemisphere moon-phase display and an increase in power reserve to 70 hours.
