Mark your calendars for Le French Festival 2023, a month filled with exciting and immersive cultural experiences. From performing arts and visual arts to gastronomy, music, and French films, the highly anticipated Le French Festival will be held from 25 May to 25 June.

The 21st edition of Le French Festival is launched by The Alliances Françaises de Malaisie in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. LeFF 2023 will tour four cities – Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kuching.

The French Embassy, Golden Screen Cinemas, and Martell co-organise the festival, while L’Oréal Paris takes on the presenter role. Additionally, Cartier continues their support as the gold sponsor, maintaining their involvement from the previous year.

Indulge in a diverse range of activities that celebrate French culture

GSC cinemas will showcase an impressive lineup of 15 French films, offering audiences a diverse selection. Film genres include comedies, thrillers, dramas, and romantic comedies. Notably, some of the movies will have their Asian debut in Malaysia.

Simultaneously, the festival’s children’s section, Le Petit Festival, will provide thrilling animated films. Additionally, it includes engaging storytelling events, and captivating performances specifically designed for the younger audience. These activities will occur at the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur and the Penang Public Library.

Art and music enthusiasts are in for a treat! LeFF is bringing a unique live painting act featuring French painter and performer Vaultman and local musicians Mei Lin Hii and John Thomas. Witness the fusion of two art forms live at The Godown.

Due to Penang’s strong connection with France, participants in Penang will have the opportunity to stroll through the island’s French-related landmarks. They will also be treated to a combination of French music and visual arts. All to celebrate and embrace French culture on the island.

Mark your calendars for Le French Festival.

The festival will kick off in Kuala Lumpur from 25 May to 11 June. Then, followed by Penang from 8 June to 18 June. Johor Bahru will host the festival from 14 June to 18 June. Lastly, Kuching will be the final stop from 21 June to 25 June.

Starting 18 May, 2023, you may purchase movie tickets online. Purchase through the GSC app, GSC website, or at the e-kiosks located in participating GSC theatres.
