First Look at Dior’s My Dior Jewellery Collection

Victoire de Castellane pays tribute to the iconic cannage motif with the My Dior jewellery collection.

An iconic Dior code, the cannage motif is a symbol of the French luxury fashion house’s unparalleled craftsmanship. The pattern, inspired by the cane weave on gilt Napoleon III chairs in Dior’s haute couture salons in Avenue Montaigne, has been reinterpreted in countless way—delicately stitched in leather, denim, or tweed on classic handbags, masterfully recreated in show-stopping garments, crafted from metal on belt buckles, and most impressively, immortalised in gold as part of the beloved My Dior jewellery collection.

For Dior Jewellery’s artistic director Victoire de Castellane, the cannage pattern holds special meaning, a cherished reminder of her visits to the Dior boutique as a child. She first introduced My Dior in 2012, a collection seen as a triumph in design for teasing out sleekness from the ornate, complex cannage pattern and emphasising its glorious symmetry.

More than a decade later, Castellane breathes new life into My Dior with captivating new jewellery pieces. Take a closer look below.

An Architectural Dream

Castellane continues to pay tribute to Dior’s visionary couturier and founder, Christian Dior, by channeling his love for architecture. The exquisite cannage motif takes shape on a series of precious rings, earrings, and bracelets. A marriage of hard and soft, these geometric masterpieces come together when intricately braided lines of gold, some dotted with glittering diamonds, are woven against a sleek, gold base. On bracelets and cuffs, its endless symmetrical loop is subtly marked with a tasteful, almost imperceptible clasp.

The Art of Detail

Season after season, Dior Jewellery’s ateliers cannot help but demonstrate their complete mastery of the craft. In these new My Dior designs, they perfect the signature technique of meeting gold and lacquer to create a symmetrical mesh from countless intertwined strands resembling gilded straw. An ode to the spirit of couture and a celebration of excellent savoir-faire, the results are meticulous miniature of the priceless artifacts that first caught Victoire de Castellane’s eye in her childhood.
